Facility reservation
Members may reserve the use of the facility to help achieve their internal schedules. Cancellation within 1 day of the test date ( unless prior arrangements have been made ) will result in a fixed charge of $100. Nonmembers cannot reserve the facility more than 1 week ahead, however, once a commitment for use of the facility is made, it will be honored for all clients, i.e. bumping WILL NOT be permitted.
Test Records
Preparation of formal test records complying with ISO 17025 are charged at cost. A typical report is $1200 and supplied in Adobe Acrobat format. Color paper copies are available charged at $0.50/page.
Short form records consist of the data sheets and a single page cover letter outlining the tests performed and a lab signature.
Membership Duration
To increase the attractiveness of full membership, clients have up to 2 years to utilize the time. Should the full-allotted time still not be used after the full term, resolution will be addressed on a case by case basis.
Client information
To protect client confidentiality, the facility will typically only service one client at a time. However, it may be possible to have several tests running simultaneously. If confidentially is a concern with the product submitted for testing, this must be made known.
Miscellaneous
Coffee and soft drinks are provided at all times. Within 5 minutes of the a facility are several excellent family restaurants ( The Boone County Family Restaurant for example, is open from 6:30 am until 9 pm). Several area hotels offer year round attractive rates.
Support Equipment
Unless previously arranged, clients are required to provide all test item support equipment. As a precaution, since EMC testing is often destructive, it is suggested that the means to repair a test item is also provided. LFR has a workshop area with the capability to perform repairs to both surface mount and through hole PWB’s. Further, a level of mechanical fabrication is also available.
A removable panel has been integrated in the Shield room, blanks of which are available for $25. This panel is drilled to interface with the bulkhead in the chamber. This panel can be customized by the client to enable cables, pipes, fibers, filters etc. to pass through the shield room wall, before arriving at the facility. The intent is to greatly reduce setup time.
To help the development process, LFR has an extensive range of components from various manufacturers, most of which supply sample kits. Suggestions on the selection and use of all these different types of filters is best addressed individually.
Legalities
L F Research is operated as outlined above with the interest of the client foremost. Every precaution will be taken to minimize the exposure of a client to issues arising from EMC support. In the case of an un-resolvable dispute, L F Research's liability shall be limited to the cost of services provided.
Clients not operating within the sprit of this non-binding agreement will, as a last resort, forfeit their membership, and may loose the right to use L F Research’s documents to support their products.
