Some Background
Many years ago, L F Research began as a consulting company. Several years after starting L F Research, clients began requesting testing to prove design improvements before heading back to a compliance lab. At about the same time, Derek was visiting England looking for people to advise on CE Marking issues. In a discussion with several long term friends, the concept of asking manufacturers to share the cost of setting up a facility in exchange for sweat equity was conceived.

Back in the USA, Derek approached the few clients using L F Research and posed the question " would you be interested in prepaying me an advance in exchange for lower cost testing in exchange?". Fortunately, several companies took this offer up, and a Spectrum Analyzer and LISN was purchased. Every year, the offer was extended to companies using L F Research; every year, more capability was acquired.
