The Technical Manager at L F Research is also an A2LA Contracted assessor. As part of the assessor responsibilities, Derek was elected Chairman of the Electro-Mechanical Advisory Committee ( EMAC ). The role of this comittee is to TBD. The committe currently meet during the A2LA Conclave during March, where predominently asessors attend. A second meetng has been proposed to occurr duriung the week of the IEEE EMC Show when it is anticipated that more representation from the laboratory community can attend. The Techncial Manager at L F Research has been contracted by Schaffner for the last 6 years to provide technical guidance, support, and training. The growth of Schaffner has necessitated the hiring of a new full time technical staff member to provide a more customer responsive interface: the new member of the team is Wally Pilat. Derek, big guy though he is, was stretched far too thin. Historically, L F Research has become tardy in delivering to deadlines, principally due to being a small company. We are delighted that we have a new office manager to remedy this shortcoming.
