First and foremost, Josh Wiseman who was helping us has moved on, taking a position with TUV in Chicago. We would like to think Josh for his work with us and wish him well in his new position.

Secondly, Derek has reduced his traveling role to spend more time back at the facility. Part of this was because the need for travel to England was eliminated, and partly because full time life on the road is arduous at best. For the most part as of Mid July 2006, Derek will be reachable at the L F research Lab.

Third, we have made several major purchases recently. Here is a summary:

  • We have acquired test equipment for performing single phase Harmonics and Flicker testing To EN 61000-3-2/3.
  • We have acquired test equipment to increase our field strength capability  to 200 v/m from 200 MHz to 1 GHz.
  • We have acquired a GTEM Cell enabling testing of small products cost effectively.
  • We have entered the calibration field for EMC RF equipment. It is our intention to become accredited for this compatibility.
  • We began the expansion of the lab floor space from 1200 Sq ft to 4000 Sq ft. To do this means a new building will be constructed with easier access than the current building.
  • We are in the process of adding a Thermal Chamber.
  • We are in the process of adding a Vibration Table.

All these changes mean a significant financial outlay, so we have resurrected our EMC Club and will be actively seeking members for the 2006/7. Members of the EMC Club receive substantial incentives in exchange for membership at the same time enabling us to grow very quickly. Through Aug 2006, we have increased the benefits to offset the outlay in order to add the above capability.

Please take a moment to visit the Membership page to see how your company can benefit from it.
